The Basic Intermediate Kayak School
The
Basic Intermediate School is designed for those who have had some
whitewater river experience and perhaps have taken a course in the
past and wish to move on with their skills.
Particular emphasis is placed on developing a solid roll, eddy
hopping, bracing, ferrying with precision, draw strokes, surfing,
and the foundation of play paddling.
We can often accommodate basic intermediate paddlers during our
beginning weeks. See the schedule for weeks where the Basic
Intermediate School is combined with either the Beginning School or
the Intermediate School.
The Intermediate School
The
Intermediate School is a step up from the Basic Intermediate
program. The course emphasizes rolling on the river, turning
precisely, ferrying in quick currents, draw strokes, bracing,
surfing and other skills needed to begin play boating. Students can
expect the intermediate classes to be more challenging than the
Basic Intermediate School.
Because we are flexible and customize our instructional programs to
the needs of our classes, we can often accommodate intermediate
level paddlers during our Basic Intermediate School. See the
schedule for weeks where the Intermediate School is combined with
either the Basic Intermediate School or the Advanced School.
