The Advanced/Intermediate Kayak School
 The
Advanced/Intermediate School is set up for the aggressive class 3/4
paddler who has kept up with kayaking. A strong river roll is
mandatory.
Skills covered include rolling on both sides of the boat, tightening
up maneuvers essential to running class 3 and 4 whitewater, advanced
river reading, and play boating techniques. You will encounter some
of the best whitewater in California on the free-flowing Salmon
River, its North & South Forks as well as other whitewater streams
and rivers in our area. During these weeks early in our
season, we have spectacular class 3, 4, and 5 whitewater just
minutes away from the lodge.
We also offer a play boating
emphasis during our Advanced/Intermediate courses for interested
students. In addition to the regular skills covered you'll
learn the latest play
boat maneuvers as well as the theory behind the technique. See
the Play Boating page and check the
schedule for dates. We cover the gamut of
advanced technique during these courses so even if you're not sure you're a playboater,
we have plenty to offer you.
