The opportunity to develop white water kayaking skills at one of the nation’s premier schools. You can come by yourself or with friends. We have classes for: BEGINNING, BASIC INTERMEDIATE, INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED BOATERS. We also offer two weeks of NQGU-KIDS KAYAKING CAMPS and an annual GRAND CANYON TRIP. All you need is a desire to learn while having a great vacation.

Forks of Salmon, CA. Situated on the shores of the California’s Salmon River deep in the Klamath National Forest. Located between the Trinity Alps and Marble Mountain Wilderness area in Northern California. Otter Bar is on a half mile of unobstructed river frontage. A remote area of California hidden half way between San Francisco and Portland, OR. 2.5 hours east of Eureka/Arcata CA on the coast, and 2 hrs. west from Yreka on I-5. No close large towns or cities.

Thousands of acres dotted with crystal clear swimming holes; kayak runs to keep anyone happy and miles of forest trails to hike in one of the most remote areas in this country. Not to mention, some of the best Road & Mountain Bike riding you will ever find.

Outdoor hot tub & wood-fired sauna; masseuses Gourmet Meals which hold up to any 5 Star Restaurant. Special emphasis on fresh, seasonal, local foods and homemade bake goods.

One certified instructor for every three (3) guests.

Six days of personalized instruction to fit individual skills and experience.

Top of the line equipment selected to individually outfit each guest.

Two spring-fed instructional ponds for initial training/orientation sessions with emphasis on rolling.

Instruction on the California Salmon and Klamath Rivers

WHO

From people with NO previous whitewater experience required, to those with advanced experience and skills. All levels taught. The young or the young at heart, no matter what your age, are welcome!

We will rent out the lodge mid to the end of September for large private bookings or weddings or other private groups in April before our season begins in May.
